UPGRADES, TESTING,
SUPPORT, MAINTENANCE

…we’ve got it covered.

Our team of industry-hardened engineers provide the rapid response guarantee that ensures you have a continuous power supply. Whatever you need, we have the field experience and technical expertise to support you.

Our specialist capabilities extend across a diverse range of industrial applications which include data centres, hospitals, manufacturing plants and residential buildings. We take a holistic approach to power protection and design and implement bespoke solutions to meet our clients’ needs.

We specialise in providing bespoke ‘control system’ solutions. And, when the power fails, we won’t.

All equipment needs to be maintained, but when it comes to standby power generation, it’s essential to have a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) contract in place to ensure your business has a reliable continuous power supply. We offer annual service contracts to conduct maintenance and repairs on your complete generator plant, inspecting control panels for signs of wear or damage and conducting a full mains fail test.

Don’t worry about the age of your system or the brand, all our engineers are equipped with the latest software and parts; we also have access to software and parts for legacy/outdated systems too. In fact, our depth of experience means we’re as comfortable working on a 50-year-old Paxman engine, as we are with the most modern MTU engine.

If you’d like to discuss your business’s PPM requirements with us, click here and we can tailor a contract that works specifically for you.

Our specialist electrical engineers design and build bespoke control systems to ensure your power generation equipment delivers outstanding performance and reliability. All our control panels, distribution boards and changeover panels are completed in-house, which means we install a custom-built systems that meet the most specific and exacting requirements.

At GCM we provide a holistic package of controls services, a range of our capabilities are below:

  • Auto and manual, PLC-based synchronising panels
  • AMF/ATS panels with switchgear
  • Comap, Dief, DSE, Woodward and other controllers
  • Operation manuals
  • Schematic drawings
  • On-site training
  • Factory acceptance tests at our Essex-based workshop
  • Site acceptance tests

It’s a given that technology becomes outdated, and that applies equally to control panels. We make a point of advising you on improvements and upgrades as soon as they are available. Solutions usually involve using Deep Sea Electronic (DSE), DEIF or ComAp modules, but we would always select the upgrade that’s right for your system.

Generator Control Panel Essex

Although we specialise in standby power generation, we know that failings can occur within a site’s switchgear. We have switchgear specialists who have the experience and expertise to identify and rectify faults.

Switchgear maintenance can form part of the PPM contract or can be an independent call out. We also have the extended offering of thermography, which provides a unique non-invasive inspection of a building’s electrical installation to detect potential faults. It is used as a predictive maintenance tool offered as part of our consultation and planning process.

On the basis that if something can go wrong, it will, we actively encourage all our clients to test their entire Automatic Transfer System (ATS) and standby generator as often as possible.

We offer load bank testing to ensure your standby power system can reliably respond to a critical load demand event. We offer both resistive and reactive load bank testing on generator sets rated from 20kW to 3MW.

We can provide load banks, up to 300 kW resistive, to access generators in remote installations and high rise buildings.
